Simulation Validation Cycle overview
Iterative workflow for validating robotic or physical system controllers in simulation before deployment to hardware. The research engineer configures the simulation environment with accurate physics parameters, sensor models, and disturbance profiles. A battery of scenario tests exercises nominal operation, edge cases, and failure recovery paths, measuring whether system behaviour meets safety and performance specifications. Discrepancies between simulated and expected behaviour are investigated and fed back into controller tuning or model correction until the system passes all validation scenarios.
