Feature Development
description
End-to-end process for designing, building, testing, and shipping a new product feature
within a sprint or iteration. Begins with backlog grooming and requirements clarification
between the product manager, tech lead, and engineers. Design mockups are reviewed and
signed off before development starts. Engineers implement the feature, write unit and
integration tests, and open pull requests for review. QA validates the feature in a
staging environment, and after all checks pass the feature is merged and released behind
a feature flag or directly to production. Retros capture lessons learned.
