Gemini CLI Memory overview

Gemini CLI's instruction-file memory system. GEMINI.md is the primary persistent knowledge file, read at session start and injected into the system context. Supports a project-root → nested-directory hierarchy where inner GEMINI.md files extend or override outer ones. Gemini CLI also reads AGENTS.md as an alternate instruction file, providing cross-agent compatibility with Codex and Amp workflows.
